STORIES
From Doubt to Determination
Margaret’s Story:
From Fear to Possibility Before joining the Ezinwanne Foundation, I often felt afraid of the future. I constantly worried about failure, and my mind was filled with the question, “What if I don’t make it?” However, everything began to change after I became part of the foundation. Listening to inspiring women share their journeys, experiences, and wisdom opened my eyes to new possibilities. Their words brought clarity and helped me see that success is not as far away as I once imagined. Today, I no longer live with those fears. Instead, I am motivated and ready to put in the work required to achieve my dreams. Every conference I attend feels like conquering another mountain that once seemed impossible. Seeing and hearing from women who have achieved what I once thought was beyond my reach has inspired me to dream bigger, work harder, and become the woman I once believed I could never be. — Margaret
Breaking Barriers
Oluwatunmise’s Story:
Rediscovering My Confidence My journey with the Ezinwanne Foundation has been truly life-changing. Through the programs and conferences organized by the foundation, I began to understand something I had long struggled with, that I am important and that being a female is something to embrace with pride. For a long time, I did not feel confident about who I was or even how I looked. But listening to the conversations and encouragement shared at the conferences helped me realize that I am more than the doubts I once carried. Slowly, my perspective began to change. I started taking care of myself again, dressing nicely, and stepping out with renewed confidence. Most importantly, I found my voice again and became more outspoken. The Ezinwanne Foundation reminded me of the power and uniqueness I carry within me. It helped me rediscover the confidence I thought I had lost. — Oluwatunmise
A Second Chance at Education
Vivian’s Story:
Finding Confidence and a Growth Mindset. Attending the first one-day empowerment program organized by the Ezinwanne Foundation was a truly transformative experience for me. The session was impactful, and I gained valuable insights that have continued to shape my perspective. Listening to the inspiring stories shared by the speakers, women who had broken boundaries and overcome limitations, encouraged me to aim higher and believe more in my potential. Their journeys motivated me to step out of my comfort zone and challenge myself beyond the limits I once placed on my dreams. Before the program, I often hesitated to pursue opportunities. Today, I approach them with a renewed mindset and the confidence to grow. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities the Ezinwanne Foundation continues to provide, from building a supportive community to offering meaningful teachings that inspire personal development. For me, the Ezinwanne Foundation is more than just an initiative; it is a platform that empowers girls to discover their strength and pursue their purpose. — Vivian
From Participant to Mentor
Afuwape Fikayomi’s Story:
A Dream Taking Shape My name is Afuwape Fikayomi Oreofe, and I was privileged to be a beneficiary of the Ezinwanne Foundation Grant 2024. Before the grant, the foundation organized a training session at Radisson Blu Ikeja, where we learned various skills including makeup, gele tying, soap making, and baking. While I gained useful knowledge from the sessions, my true passion has always been baking. As a young baker, one of my biggest challenges was not having a professional oven. During the grant pitch, I shared my vision of growing my baking business if I could access the right equipment. Although the competition was intense, I emerged second place and received funding from the foundation. With that support, I was able to purchase a good oven, bringing my dream of starting a small baking business closer to reality. I am truly grateful to the Ezinwanne Foundation and Mommy Rita for believing in me and creating opportunities for girls like me. — Afuwape Fikayomi Oreofe
